Irfan Pathan, the former Indian cricketer, believes that the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) can be in better form once Chris Morris will be taken in the squad. Morris suffered a side strain and consequently, was not selected in the initial matches. Also, in today’s game, happening against Mumbai Indians (MI), the selection committee has not chosen Morris once again.
Irfan Pathan believes Chris Morris can strengthen RCB
Seeing the future of RCB that can be bright once Steyn is removed and Morris is brought, Irfan says the team has the better batsmen but lacks bowlers and Morris can fulfill the place of an all-rounder
“I think RCB will get better as soon as Morris comes in. I see Morris coming in, Steyn going out, and they are settled. They have a better team, they have better batsmen, and are not just entirely dependent on AB de Villiers or Virat Kohli this year. They have Aaron Finch, Padikkal did well, and they will sort out their middle order,” Irfan Pathan said in Star Sports Cricket Connected.
He says that on behalf of the bouncers and yorkers, he will prefer Navdeep Saini over Shivam Dube who cost RCB their last match played against the Kings XI Punjab (KXIP). Dube was smashed badly and the momentum of the match was turned. He believes that the dead overs should be comprised of more yorkers and bouncers.
“What I don’t want from RCB, is Shivam Dube bowling the last overs. I don’t want him to bowl death overs. They just can’t let Shivam Dube bowl the last over as they did in the last game. Navdeep Saini should bowl minimum two overs in the death because he is the guy who can nail those yorkers as well as bowl bouncers,” Irfan Pathan said.
