Parthiv Patel 35 years old former Indian wicketkeeper, left-handed batsman. In domestic cricket, he was a star player of Gujrat in the Ranji Trophy. He leads the Gujrat team in Ranji Trophy in 2016-17. Parthiv Patel leads the Gujrat team to win the Ranji Trophy and he leads the team for runner-ups in next year’s tournament. Patel became the first captain to have won all three domestic titles.
In December 2020 he announced retirement from all formats of cricket on his social media platform. The last time he played in IPL 2018 for the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). Parthiv Patel made his international debut in 2002 at the age of 17 in a Test against England. He played 38 ODI’s, 25 Tests, and 2 T20I’s for the India team. He last played for the India team in a test match against South Africa at Johannesburg.

“Today I announce my retirement from all forms of cricket, and as I bring down the curtains on this 18-year-old cricketing journey. I feel heavier with gratitude towards many. The BCCI showed a generous amount of confidence and faith in a 17-year-old boy to play for India. I have enormous gratitude towards them for being a guiding force and hand-holding me. In the formative years of my young career,” Patel said in his long Twitter post.
He also added that”I am full of gratitude to The Gujarat Cricket Association, my home, for solidly rallying around me throughout my journey. The leadership role conferred upon me couldn’t have been more joyous and fulfilling than our team winning all formats of the game,”.
Parthiv Patel in Indian domestic cricket scored over 11,000 runs in 194 first-class games, with 27 centuries and 67 half-centuries.
