2- 174 Appearances – Yusuf Pathan
The player still has a long way to go with already being featured in 174 IPL matches. While being a part of Rajasthan Royals (RR), Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), and David Warner’s Sun Risers Hyderabad (SRH), he never got selected as the commander for any of the armies. With 3,204 runs and 42 wickets, the player has left unsold in IPL 2020 auction.
3- 170 Appearances – Ravindra Jadeja
Ravindra Jadeja, one of the best spinning sensations and the all-rounder, has 170 appearances for Rajhastan Royals (RR), Gujrat Lions, Tuskers Kerala, respectively. Finally, one of the successful franchises, Chennai Super Kings (CSK), started bidding him for the last twelve years.

4- 157 Appearances – Piyush Chawla
Swiping from Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) to Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), the player did not get his luck to lead either of the sides despite his 157 appearances with 584 runs and 150 wickets.
However, he has been picked by the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) that is already dominant by other players in the race for captaincy.
5- 154 Appearances – AB De Villiers
AB De Villiers, a consistent part of the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) with 4,395 runs, that is led by Virat Kohli, did not give him the lucky charm to be the commander.
